It was a late afternoon in August. I had been working in Columbus for a while. My cousins, Paula and Barbara, told me that I should make sure to see the antebellum mansion, Waverly, before I left the area. After I had the opportunity to shoot that beautiful structure of such architectural significance, I was about to get back in car to drive away, when I saw a small pond to the edge of the property. The pond was slick, just as the air was still, with only sound the cicada's song. As sweat dripped down my forehead and into my eyes, I captured as much with my camera as possible. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I did capturing them.
